Alexandros Kouris

Alexandros Kouris has over 18 years of professional experience, having advised numerous business and political leaders and has carried our landmark branding, reputation management and strategic communication projects for various organisations in Europe and the Middle East across a diverse array of markets and industries. In 1995 he was the youngest member ever to join the Greek Association of CEOs and has successfully held various senior positions in the international networks of TBWA, BBDO and JWT.

In 2000, he co-founded Critical Publics - Altervision, a group of four professional services companies operating out of London and Athens. After heading Critical Publics - Altervision for 4 years and bringing it to an EBIT of EURO 1.5 million, the Group merged with one of SE EuropeĀ¢s largest consulting groups. Alexandros joined the merged entityĀ¢s equity share and BoD and took on the directorship of its Communications Business Unit which he ran successfully for 4 years and made it by far the most profitable within the whole group. In 2008, along with his initial Critical Publics - Altervision business partners, he decided to depart and engineered a demerger which upon its conclusion achieved the formation of a new group which completed a successful share capital increase and brought under its umbrella the original London-based consulting practice (Critical Publics) and the award winning branding & design practice (Altervision). Alexandros is currently the Chairman of Critical Publics - Atervision and an active contributor to its companiesĀ¢ projects.

Alexandros is an alumni of The American College of Greece and the Chartered Institute of Marketing having also completed professional training at INSEAD. He frequently gives speeches throughout Europe, mostly on Tourism Branding and Marketing Countries. In 2006, he co-directed the team of consultants assigned to produce GreeceĀ¢s new 5-year destination marketing strategy and branding system. His approach, insight and methodology is crystallised in his book “Destination Brand Equity – A Toolkit for Marketing to Visitors”. Inter alia, he is the co-creator of “Kerasma”, GreeceĀ¢s highly celebrated international culinary ambassador brand. His branding work has been acknowledged by various peers and he has been selected as one of the contributors to EmeraldĀ¢s Books titled Tourism Branding: Communities in Action.
