George Rizopoulos


George Rizopoulos was born in Athens in 1945. Captain in the Merchant Navy, in 1972, he visited Mykonos for holidays, he liked it and decided to stay there forever.

In 1974 he was already a partner in the restaurant "KATRIN". In 1976 he founded the restaurant"EL GRECO ", which after thirty years in the square of the three wells was transferred to Tourlo. In the 90s he created the restaurant" EL GRECO BY THE SEA" in Ornos of Mykonos, the "El Greco ATHENS" in Ampelokipi, was partner and manager at the restaurant "Cleopatra / EL GRECO" in the town of Mykonos and partner in the wine and drink distribution company "SATYROS". He also founded the company of supply and management of restaurants "El Greco LTD".

Particularly active in the local restaurant on the island, Mr. Rizopoulos was Secretary of the Association of Restaurateurs of Mykonos for 25 years and a member of the tourism board on the island.

His continued occupation with the restaurants, apart from technical competence, gave him the opportunity to reach out to the culinary and tourism in a more philosophical mood.
