Suzan Lynn Tennant


Born in Newark New Jersey, USA, Susan lives in Indianapolis, Indiana. Her ambition is to travel the world and document cultural heritage. This is both a passion and a professional activity and it is her goal to visit as much as possible in her lifetime.

Susan Tennant is a Professor and Assistant Director of the IU School of Informatics Media Arts and Science, Indiana University, Purdue University, Indianapolis., Indiana, USA. Her expertise is in the documentation of cultural heritage. Her schedule currently encompasses teaching digital documentary production and physical computing. She also is an instructor of Informatics study abroad program in Paros, Greece. Susan holds a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture and a Master of Science in Digital Media. Her undergraduate degrees include Bachelor of Fine Art and Bachelor of Art in Education.

She has developed a website dedicated to outdoor sculpture and significant cultural heritage destinations. www.susantennant.com. This is a work in progress and will grow in time to include more outdoor sculpture parks and cultural heritage sites. She was also the Director of the Clioh Project, (Cultural Digital Library Indexing our Heritage): clioh.informatics.iupui.edu

This website was the first of Tennant’s involvement in developing international service learning projects for students. This past summer 2010 she instructed students on Paros, Greece in field production and digital documentation.

The short documentary produced with her students was about the connection between local food producers and tourism, titled “Food of the Past: Nourishment for the Future,” www.vimeo.com/13602964. Her ambition is to continue to develop digital media content for cultural and educational purposes.
