Michalis Toanoglou

Michael Toanoglou is General Manager of EUROXENIA SA - Hotel Managment & Tourism Consulting and Managing Director of Tourism Organisation of Samos. Born in Germany, grew up in Athens and since 1984 he lives in Rhodes.

He studied at the ASTER (Higher School of Tourism Rhodes) and decided to stay permanently in Rhodes initially for business, and then family reasons. He holds a Masters degree (Msc in Tourism Management) from Surrey University and the EAP Master in Management of Tourist Enterprises. Michael began his career at Rhodes in 1992 as hotel manager.

In 1998 he created the company Rodhotel SA which dealt with the hotel management and later the company Euroxenia. Since 2009 he has taken a leading role in the Tourism Organisation of Samos. Both this role and the change from being a hotel manager to the business activity in 1998, stand out as highlights in his career.

Particularly notable is his educational activity, always in the tourism sector. More specifically he has taught as a professor at IEK Rhodes tourist VTC, the Higher School of Tourism Education Rhodes (ASTER) and other schools.

A very active and restless spirit, Michael, among others, is a member of the Scientific Dodecanese Tourism Chamber, Member of Sport Tourism Council (STIC), a member of HCIMA Hotel & Catering International Managers Association, Member of the Hotel Association of Rhodes, President of SKAL Lindos and the Secretary of the National Committee SKAL International Greece.

In his free time he travels, reads and deals with motor sports. Michael is married and has two daughters.
